DESCRIPTION:Download the event flyer (PDF) \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nIn recognition of Autism Awareness Month\, join us to learn about barriers to medical care for individuals with autism spectrum disorder and other developmental disabilities. Practical strategies for decreasing anxiety and improving care for these individuals will be provided. The use of systematic desensitization\, an evidence-based strategy for decreasing anxiety around medical procedures\, will be reviewed and highlighted through case examples. \nThis online program is free and open to Mass General staff\, patients\, and the general public. No registration needed. \nTime: April 8\, 2024 at 12:00 PM – 1:00 PM EST \nSpeaker: Jill Pineda\, PhD \nDr. Pineda is a licensed clinical psychologist at the Lurie Center and a clinical instructor at Harvard Medical School. She provides neuropsychological evaluations and therapeutic services for children\, adolescents\, and adults with autism spectrum disorder and other neurodevelopmental disorders.
